Grassroots Support Campaign

What is it?

The Grassroots Support Campaign is aimed at educating Alexandria's 300+ creative firms, the companies that utilize them, and the people who work for them, to obtain their support in bringing the world's first center for commercial creativity to our city. Area businesses, artists, and residents can show their interest by donating to the campaign.

Why are the funds needed?

Imagine Alexandria is in the planning phase. The project has been enthusiastically received by local government and key businesses, but in order to move to the next stage of the project we must obtain two things. First, we must show that there is broad-based support for the idea so that we will have the momentum to push through any red tape and gain community support. Second, we have projected that and the studies required to create a detailed work plan will require an investment of $250,000 — and the funds from this campaign will be used for this purpose.

How much should I donate?

The Grassroots Support Campaign will accept donations of any amount in US currency. While all amounts are appreciated, the campaign offers web acknowledgement and other benefits for those donating $100 or more. You can find the list of contribution packages here.

Is my donation tax deductible?

This organization will be a non-profit, and no products or services will be provided in exchange for your donation. While this organization intends to enable tax-free donations you should talk with your tax advisor to ensure that your donation will qualify.
